Home The Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones Revenge of the Sith A New Hope The Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones takes place approximately ten years after The Phantom Menace. An alarming attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala's life requires the attention of Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young padawan, Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker is assigned to protect the senator and taker her into hiding on her homeworld of Naboo while Kenobi searches for the criminal that is responsible. Kenobi finds the assassin to be a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Jango Fett that is taking shelter in the cloning facilities on Kamino. The Kaminoans are using Fett to clone an army for the Republic. Meanwhile, Skywalker and Amidala fall in love, even though it is forbidden by the Jedi code for a Jedi to have romantic relations. Skywalker is also troubled by premonitions of his mother's death. He takes the Senator to his home, Tattooine, to find his mother. He finds that she has been murdered by the vicious Sand People and slaughters their village for revenge. On Kamino, Kenobi fails to catch Fett, but tracks and pursues him to the rocky Geonosis. Kenobi discovers a plot by the former Jedi Count Dooku to create an alliance of Separatists to split away from the Republic. Skywalker and Amidala attempt to rescue Kenobi but fail. However, the Jedi and the new Grand Army of the Republic come to the rescue, and the Confederacy's droid army combats them in a huge battle. Kenobi and Skywalker face Dooku, but Anakin loses an arm to the Sith lord. Master Yoda comes and rescues them, but Dooku escapes. All the while, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, secretly a Sith lord, has befriended young Skywalker and continually gains more power in the Senate. Thus begins the Clone Wars.
