The Clone Wars rage on. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker stage a daring rescue of Chancellor Palpatine after he is captured by the villainous separatist commander, General Grievous. After a dangerous journey through Grievous' command ship, the Jedi encounter Count Dooku. Obi-Wan is incapacitated during the fight, and Anakin beats Dooku. Palpatine tempts Anakin to the dark side by having him kill Dooku out of revenge. Grievous captures the two Jedi, but manage to force the droid general to flee. The Jedi then return to Coruscant, where Skywalker finds that his secret wife is pregnant. Anakin begins to see visions of Padmé dying, the same thing that happened before he lost his mother. More and more, Skywalker is drawn closer and closer to the dark side by the secret Sith Palpatine and the Jedi begin to distrust the chancellor. Meanwhile, Yoda is sent to the wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk to protect against a confederate invasion and Kenobi travels to Utapau to find the hidden droid commander Grievous. Obi-Wan engages the general in a long and brutal fight until Grievous is finally defeated. Skywalker then makes the horrifying discovery that Palpatine is the Sith lord. When four Jedi go to arrest the chancellor, they find that he is extremely powerful. Skywalker betrays the Jedi to become a Sith and learn how to save his wife. Anakin is dubbed Darth Vader and is dispatched to annihilate the Jedi at the temple on Coruscant. Palpatine turns the Republic into the Empire and has the clone troopers attack the Jedi across the galaxy. With the war ended, Obi-Wan faces of with Anakin and leaves him for dead, but Palpatine rescues him after battling with Yoda and transforms Vader into a cyborg. Vader unintentionally brings about the death of his wife, but their two children are still born and taken into hiding and separated. The galaxy is in a grim state with the Sith in control and only two Jedi left, but Anakin's young son presents a new hope.
