The Beatles were a band in the 1960's who revolutionized music and how the music world works. They were founded August 15, 1959. Composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, they started in Great Britain as a small band called the Quarry Men. The Quarry Men, or The Beatles, had many members in their band, but slowly became the "Fab Four." They were rejected by many recording studios, until Parlophone gave them a chance. Over the years, they became the biggest band of all time with many number 1 songs and albums. They were not only rock stars, but were political figures, even meeting the Queen of England. They went on to change the idea of music from fast paced, to slower and heavier. They toured the world and became world famous, focusing mainly on England and America. They went places such as: Europe, America, Japan, India, and much more. The Beatles made millions of dollars, not only with music, but on television, movies, and memorabilia. They went through 3 main phases. These 3 are broken down in the next pages, from their beginnings and first albums to their split, with their last album released together as the Beatles.
