Introduction

God as the first and most creative artist. Art is able to preserve history and cultures around the world. It is through art that we are able
to see the evolution of man's thoughts, ideas, and creativity. The richness of art is able to foster a well-cultured society. Through various
art movements in history we are able to have a glimpse of each artists' perspective and individuality.

Renaissance
The Renaissance was time of re-birth, new ideas, and new techniques. New thinkers and artists dominated this era of
art. Renaissance art orginated in Italy, a town with famed artists such as
Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michaelangelo.

Impressionism
This movement was shift from traditional European art that was both embraced and rejected. This was a time when
artists switched their work place from a studio to the fresh outdoor scenery also called working "en plein air." Influenced by painters such as Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, and
many more.

Surrealism
This was a time when artists used the unconscious mind to create art that is imaginative and abstract. Beginning in 1924, Surrealism
became a form of art that was influencial and fostered the birth of other art movements. Famed artists include: André Breton,
Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy, and Salvador Dalí.
